Hello, I am an experienced language teacher. I am a native speaker of Italian and I am fluent in French Spanish and German. I have a BA in Linguistics, a Master's in European Politics and a Master's in Italian Studies from the University of Washington. In September 2013, my wife and I decided to try the Internet to obtain a tutor for study of the French language. The need was to find someone who had linguistic skills in the language, but who also had a knack for communicating well how to obtain the vocabulary and conversational skills we desired. In Giovanni D., we found a tutor with excellent communication skills who was quickly able to ascertain our level of knowledge of the language and to outline appropriate ways for us to achieve our goals. He is always organized and, in addition, comfortable with technology and able to show us ways technology can aid us in achieving our goals. Giovanni was an excellent French tutor. He was well prepared for all of our sessions, gave me good exercises to do outside our meetings and pushed me to practice the things I was hesitant about even though it was difficult. He is a very patient teacher. I am sure he would be great for almost anyone. I am planning on moving to France in 2014 and with his help I have become more confident to speak French with others. It was hard for me to find a good Italian tutor. I was fortunate to find Giovanni. In fact he was more than I expected because the lessons weren't boring as I had before It was quite the opposite. If you are clear on what you want or need he can respond very well to your wishes. He doesn't try to force you learn something that you don't need it. He shows what is important and from there the effective learning happens. I recommend Giovanni for those that want to learn Italian.
