Aspergers

I have spent over two years working with several Aspergers students. Various techniques I have used with these students include the use of a timer and breaks from instruction. Additionally, I posted behavioral reminders on the whiteboard to help the student keep focused. Also I use proximity and quiet reminders that only that student can hear. I also used reward coupons.

ADD/ADHD

Over the course of my teaching I have worked successfully with ADD/ADHD students for over two years. I seat these students where I have physical proximity to redirect. I also provide them with frequent breaks during the lesson. I also use a visual schedule when needed to help them stay organized. Really wiggly students sit on an exercise ball throughout the lesson.
