~20 Years Accounting Tutoring Experience
I have been tutoring Accounting and other various topics for 19 years at the college level. This includes 9 years of tutoring online for students all over the country. I have become very familiar with what specific things in accounting tend to stump the average student, and I like to make sure these core ideas are covered. My approach is to attempt to get the underlying concepts (rather than just plugging in numbers), which the student can then carry into future topics and be able to apply ...

I can tutor first-year financial accounting, usually called principles, fundamentals, introduction, and the like, such classes normally ending with a corporate chapter or cash flows. I can also tutor introductory level managerial accounting, such as job & process costing, CVP, activity based costing, budgeting, etc. (Please note that while I can cover most schools' intro level managerial classes, there can be variances in topics and level. It would be helpful to let me know the topics with which you need help.) If you want to go outside these areas, please let me know what you are working on and we will see if it is something I can do. (Please note, however, that I do not do taxes, auditing, or advanced level accounting.)

Kay helped me understand why Dividends are called a Contra Account. Also, I now know when an Asset, Liability, Equality, Revenue, and Expense are a debit or credit. I was struggling with the concept, but I now feel like I have a firm understanding on that aspect of accounting. Looking forward to understanding the next area of accounting. :)
