While a teacher, I had three students with either ADD or ADHD in my class both years. In order to allow them to do their best I used praise, incentives, behavior charts, and constant parent communication. I also had a signal that they knew they could use if they needed to get a drink and take a minute break during independent work time. Most of all, I tried to keep them interested in the activities by making the activities interesting and using a more interactive teaching style.
