I always wait a bit before reviewing someone who interacts with my child. We all have our bad days, personalities don't match, etc. My daughter was not at all thrilled when I told her I wanted to get her a tutor. Struggling as she was, she somehow felt getting tutored was failing. I pretty much had to force her to first couple of lessons. After she relaxed a but and started talking with Cheryl, her opinion of tutoring changed. She started catching up and then was even with the class teachings. This resulted in her asking to go and being sure to bring home her books for homework. Something she failed to do on a regular basis when she was struggling. Now she is on the verge of being a little ahead if the class. Although she isn't there yet. In grade school she loved going to school. Middle school changed that between 6th + 7th grades. Now she is beginning to like it again. Well, at least she isn't hating it and her attitude at home has improved as well. Cheryl was patient, kind and thorough in assessing where she was at and exactly what to work on in order to turn things around. It didn't happen overnight, but after a couple of months you will notice the difference.
