Hello and thank you for finding me. I have been a special education teacher for 15 years. I have been blessed exponentially. Working in wonderful districts throughout northeast Ohio and with devoted staffs led me to my current day position in Massillon where I have been for 9 years. I have worked with many different types of children including children with learning disabilities, autism, ADHD,other heath impairments, behavior problems and cerebral palsy. My degree is in Severe Behavioral Handicaps. I taught children with Severe Behavior Handicaps for 7 years. Currently, I'm a tutor in the 7th grade responsible for 24 children and their IEP's. Half of my students on my caseload this year alone have ADHD.
Aspergers
I have been teaching children in special education for 15 years. I have worked with a number of children with autism and Aspergers. With children who have Autism and Aspergers, one notices that while educationally they are often on-grade level or above, their social skills are often lacking. They need reassurance and support in making decisions when relating to others. Educationally, I will say that anything not "black and white" such as making inferences, can be difficult. My degree is in Severe Behavioral Handicaps.
