John

Experienced Chemistry Tutor and Adjunct College Professor

Hello! Thank you for considering me as your next tutor for chemistry. I know chemistry can seem confusing at first, but with some guidance, you or your student will be feeling comfortable with the material very soon. I am very familiar with the difficulty of both college and high school level chemistry courses. In fact, I just finished teaching two college courses of General Chemistry I & II. Before this teaching position, I was very successful in helping students in NC accomplish their...

ACT Science

I am well prepared for any science subject that the ACT offers, and have reviewed the curriculum and it's sample problems. Here are reasons why I would be a great tutor for you. I completed my Bachelor's degree in chemistry with two minors, environmental science and general science. With my degree and minors, I had to take a variety of science courses which gave me a broad perspective on the sciences (chemistry, physical sciences, biology, anatomy, physics, math, environmental science, astronomy). My master's degree also covered advanced chemistry topics, such as environmental chemistry, biogeochemistry, ecology and water chemistry. I also am familiar with the best tips to help the student manage his/her time, and ensure that there will be enough time to get to all the questions.

organic chemistry

As an undergraduate chemistry major I took two semesters of Organic chemistry, where I made A's in both courses. I pursued my organic chemistry interest in graduate school where I took environmental organic chemistry while working with organic contaminants in an environmental chemistry lab. To teach the student, I will discuss the topic in a simplified manner, while using drawings and 3D models to increase the student's understanding. I have taught general chemistry lab courses in the past, with an offer to teach an organic lab course. I have a good ability to see the organic molecules in space, which is an asset when learning molecular orientation and certain reactions.

John was on time, well prepared and helped my daughter understand the subject matter (Honors Chemistry). It was a pleasure to have met John and we look forward to his assistance in the near future.

While sitting in my first general chemistry class, I knew that in order to be successful, I would need additional help. I was hesitant at first to get a private tutor, until I met John. He is very patient and knowledgeable. He is easy to reach and dependable. John asks for a topic to cover prior to our session so he can best prepare himself and on occasion, has brought extra handout material for me to study, which is very much appreciated. Without John's help, I wouldn't have received an "A" in my class! I would highly recommend him to any one in need of Chemistry help!

John is an amazing tutor. The most favorite thing I like about John, he is so patient. He will show you whatever you need as many times of as needed. He is very respectable young man, dependable as in texting back in a timely matter. He knows his subject of study very well. He likes to make sure that I understands my assignments before leaving a tutoring session. He also, is very thorough or clear when explain the subject of study. I have learned a lot about chemistry since John as been my tutor. He will explain the small and big things that teachers don't have time to show you in the classroom. Overall I think John is a pleasant young man with great character and an awesome tutor.
