11/13/14 Miss Kim is making a huge difference in my 5th grade son's life. My son has been diagnosed as dyslexic, and we only caught it now. Her background in education and training and experiences that have lead her to be an Orton Gillingham tutor make her more effective than we could have hoped for. I was a teacher and a principal for many years, and I have never met anyone as competent, genuine and caring as Miss Kim has been. She has built a positive relationship with my son, and keeps him on track during his lessons. His confidence is building, and he is on the path to having successful strategies that will (and have already) made a difference in his ability to read more effectively. There is so much learning that takes place in such a positive atmosphere. We feel very blessed that we found Miss Kim. 3/31/15 My son is reading with more confidence every day, looks forward to his lessons with Miss Kim, and just earned all A's on his grade card. The all A's is not so important as much as the way in which he is earning them. He is using the strategies Kim has taught him and has gone from dreading school work and feeling overwhelmed to feeling like he can tackle the challenges that are presented to him. Kim continues to educate herself so that she is able to give the most effective instruction--this last weekend she just went for further training to enhance her already exceptional understanding and implementation of the Orton Gillingham program. We are so grateful.
