I received a BA in Classical Studies from the University of Akron, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1977. My specialty was in Roman History with an emphasis on Augustus and the Julio-Claudians. In addition to this, I studied Egyptology (including the language), and I engaged in the study of ancient cultures, myths, and, of course, Latin and Greek.
