Cheryl is an excellent tutor! She is tutoring my seven year old granddaughter, who only slightly struggles with reading. (I think she really just needs the confidence). She is well prepared, and especially interested in my granddaughter's progress and enriching her reading skills and comprehension. Time for an update!And sorry for the length, but we are thrilled! The difference in my granddaughter's reading and confidence is unbelievable. She actually asks to read to us, and even reads by herself! I did not expect that much of a change in the short amount of time they have worked together. Prior to her tutoring she was very hesitant, worried about being wrong, and begged NOT to read. She now reads signs, menus, anything that's in front of her, and most importantly, evens tries and WANTS to read even things that are above her level of reading. Actually, I don't think she feels anything is above her level of reading, since she can now sound out just about anything she wants. She has acquired confidence beyond expectations, and she is beginning to develop a joy of reading. (Which was a great concern for us). Cheryl has also adjusted her lessons, to include some Spanish support, touching on money, and working on telling time. My granddaughter was also just given an assignment do her first "book report", and was given 6 weeks to complete it. Cheryl has agreed to take on this assignment and use this as a opportunity to teach her HOW to handle these large assignments and projects that she will have in the future. She is teaching her how to formulate a plan, make choices to execute the plan, break it into small manageable portions, and manage the time it takes to complete this project. This lesson will serve her for her entire school career. This is the thing about Cheryl, she is not just concerned with raising this grade or that, but creating lifelong lessons on HOW to learn and navigate school to be the best student you can be, and enjoy it! I can not tell anyone how happy we have been with Cheryl's approach, the time she puts into preparation, and the caring way she delivers the lessons. And then add her flexibility, with scheduling, and reasonable affordable rates! Thanks again Cheryl!

My son started a new school three weeks ago with extremely tough curriculum. He is in the first grade learning three grade work and enrolled into the school seven weeks into the first quarter.
