Hi! My name is Angee and I am excited about helping students uncover their love for learning. Education: I attend Liberty University. I will have my degree in Educational Psychology at the beginning of August 2016.I will also be taking concurrent graduate classes in School Psychology this January. I am a developmental psychology student at Liberty University. At the college I tutored at, I tutored to special needs kids and I nanny special needs children. I have a lot of experience designing curriculum that fits their learning style. I deal with Autism in the same way I deal with Aspergers. It's about patience, repetition and verbal communication enhancement. My students, just like my Asperger students would often get frustrated and strike out so I would give them a place to calm down and often time if they had something that comforted them such as a favorite stuff animal, I would make sure they had that as well. Tutoring Autism students is a fine balance between learning and not overloading their senses so I take that into consideration when I tutor them. Often time they strike out not because they are undisciplined but because they are overwhelmed.
Aspergers
I am a developmental psychology student at Liberty University. At the college I tutored at, I tutored to special needs kids and I nanny special needs children. I have a lot of experience designing curriculum that fits their learning style. I was a nanny for a boy who had Aspergers. It was my job to get him up to the level he could enter kindergarten. It involved a lot of repetition and positive reinforcement. I also would minimize distractions that were hard on his senses such as loud noises, certain textures and certain amounts of light. I would also allow a space for him to sit and calm down when he was upset and striking out.
ADD/ADHD
I am a developmental psychology student at Liberty University. At the college I tutored at, I tutored to special needs kids and I nanny special needs children. I have a lot of experience designing curriculum that fits their learning style. With ADHD it is about getting a lot done in a short period of time. I have learned that if I allow my students breaks, they perform better. Also it is about recognizing their frustrations and helping them to conquer them.

She has helped out my son greatly since we started his lessons 5 months ago. She's sensitive to his work load, mood, and stress levels and caters her lessons according to his particular needs for the day. We've been working on his organizing and study skills as well. She fills me in on every lesson and gives me advice and references to help him out additionally at home. I'm very pleased so far and plan on continuing our lessons for as long as we have a need.

10/8/2014 Angee has been tutoring our 19 year old autistic son for the past several months. I wanted to take a moment to thank Angee for her willingness to try different approaches to find what is best suited to help him. Angee is certainly dedicated to her profession and we are thankful that she is helping our son. 12/1/2014 Since my last review Angee has continued to work to improve life skills. Angee's willingness to think of and try new ways to keep James engaged has been a real asset. 2/10/15 Angee continues to create new ways to teach. As the saying goes, "she makes learning fun."

I can't say enough about Miss Angela! My son's problem area is math. After the horrible experience we went through called 4th grade I knew we needed outside help! We found Miss Angela soon after and she has helped change our son's life!! She is caring, thoughtful, and very reliable. She knows what she is doing and takes her tutoring students very seriously. She has helped boost my son's math grade from an F to a B! Miss Angela is able to pin point what is wrong and what needs extra work. If you have any doubts, put them aside because in my opinion Miss Angela is the perfect tutor!!

I'm studying with Angela once a week online to improve my English speaking skills. I really enjoy learning from her since she listens to me carefully without stopping me every time I make grammar mistakes. Hopefully this can help improve fluency...? :) Also, she is wide open to my suggestions on how to make our lesson more effective. I think I will keep studying with her for a while on a regular basis. I highly recommend Angela!

Angee makes learning fun with my daughter. It is amazing the amount of ground covered in an hour. 1 hour a week with Angee over a 3 month period, my daughter has progressed more than in a year of public schools. Highly recommend Angee!!

Our daughter, who has special vision needs, loves Angee. She feels more confident in her math skills and we've had less than two months of lessons so far. We're positive our daughter will continue to grow in her skills through Angee. Love the weekly lesson information and that she's able to help with Common Core math.

Angela works hard to meet the individual needs of my child. She is patient and continues to rework the plan to serve my child's changing needs. I highly recommend her. My son is special needs so I was skeptical about the progress we would see, but have been amazed!

We are thrilled with Angela! She keeps on a schedule but has no problem reviewing previous lessons to make sure the knowledge is there. We are at a critical year, & my 5th grader is feeling much more confident in math & that makes me a Happy Mama!!
