Valerie
Skilled Tutor: English, Reading, Writing, Grammar, Spelling, History
What do you look for in a tutor? As a mother who has raised three children with learning disabilities, I can identify with wanting the best. I returned to college to become that person. Because of my strong work and study ethic, I graduated with highest honors (Summa Cum Laude), majoring in English and History. I pass these ethics on to my students for there is no greater sense of accomplishment than seeing a student succeed. I have a true heart for children and families and I am committed to...

I got help from Ms.Valerie for my daughters STAAR writing and comprehension. It has been a wonderful experience with her. She made everything very easy for my daughter from brainstorming ideas to finishing with great conclusions. She listens to the ideas of kids very patiently and tells them what was right or wrong. I like that part of her. So my daughter got more open and would listen to Valerie even better. I really appreciate all her time and efforts. Thanks a lot Valerie.

We have used Valerie since September to tutor our 10th grader in English. Valerie is a very patient and thorough tutor. My child quickly attained an A in English and has maintained it. She is prompt and professional and more than willing to work whenever she is needed. If something special happened that we needed extra help she was willing to accommodate us. I would highly recommend her.

Valerie has been tutoring our 11-year-old in reading now for 6 months. We home school our children and his reading struggles were heartbreaking as he was really trying. I could see the panic in his eyes when his grandparents asked him to read his birthday card out loud last year. We met with Valerie as a family for the first time and our son really didn't know what to think. After a few lessons, it was evident that they were bonding and he was attempting some reading techniques that she was teaching him. Valerie advised us that our son was exhibiting some dyslexic traits and she asked us if we had ever had him tested. We had not so she asked if it would be okay to try using techniques used to teach dyslexic readers. Our son has not only responded, but his reading level has improved to the point where he is now - 6 months later - reading books at his grade level. She has helped him totally change his outlook on reading and increased his confidence. Thank you Valerie! God bless you!!!!

Ms. Valerie A. is a great tutor. She was very knowledgeable in History while tutoring my daughter who is a college sophomore. She helped her to fully understand the important aspects of every chapter. Ms. Valerie is very dedicated and punctual. As a result, my daughter received an A in the class.
