I hold a Master's degree in Adult Education from Portland State University. My Master's project involved developing a participatory approach to Adult ESOL. I also hold a graduate certificate in Teaching English as a Second or Other Language (TESOL) from Seattle Pacific University. I have been teaching adult ESL (paid and volunteer) for many years, and I have worked with students from all over the world. My experience includes students at all proficiency levels, from true beginners to TOEFL and business English students. I have taught several Level 1 and 2 adult ESOL groups at Portland Community College, and I own my own adult ESL tutoring practice (ESL PDX).

Before I was hopeless to study the IELTS preparation test but when I met Janet, everything changed. She taught me how to write the task 1 and 2. I gained confidence. I needed a 26 in the speaking part of Toefl. Those who have taken Toefl know how hard it is to get a 26. Janet was very helpful. She is a very experienced person.
