Ana
Tutora de ingles
My name is Ana. I love science and reading. I am fluent in Spanish and English. One of my interests is learning about different cultures. I am 33 years old. I have 11 years of experience tutoring individuals with developmental disabilities. I am very patient and have worked with students from different backgrounds. As a child, I was very frustrated when it came to taking tests; so I definitely understand the importance of preparing for such tasks. I have lived in Oregon for over 30 years and...

Aspergers
I have tutored children and teenagers diagnosed with aspergers. It is important to know what the student values. Lessons structured for the student are also important. I find that flash cards and visuals work well. People diagnosed with aspergers can learn new things with the right help. I have tutored people diagnosed with aspergers in home settings and it has been a great experience.
autism
I have tutored many people diagnosed with autism. It is important to know what is important to the student and what kind of routine they would prefer. A tutoring session can be fun if I know what the student wants to learn most. I have been tutoring students diagnosed with autism and been trained by behavior specialists on how to support someone with autism.

ADD/ADHD
I have tutored many people diagnosed with ADD/ADHD. Flash cards and interaction work well. It seems to help when we can take breaks or just keep the session short. It is important to know what is important to the student and what they want to learn most. My experience comes from tutoring in home settings. Grown ups or children with ADD/ADHD can learn many things with a patient tutor.

She is always on time, and she always brings a new activity or game to make learning fun. I like that and is very responsible and patient. She knows her job. My son is doing so good. He got 10/10 in phonics and 10/10 on his spelling test. I really appreciated Ana's help.

Ana comes prepared for the lesson. Very nice to have her. She lives close by and is easy to communicate with by e-mail. Excellent instructor. I seem to understand more. I think she is getting better at Spanish. (joke) Spanish is so similar to French! I highly recommend her to anyone trying to learn Spanish. Fantastico! She should be charging more for her lessons. Lesson #22 - Now it is getting harder as she is asking me questions in Spanish.

Anna started a beginning Spanish lesson with our two daughters ages 10 and 15. She brought enlarged visuals to help our visually-impaired daughter with the lesson and was thorough with the lesson the full hour. She has a gentle way about her that made our daughters feel comfortable. She explained things well, and the girls are looking forward to the next lesson.

It was great to meet Ana. She was soft spoken and unassuming. Ana sat down with my daughter and got right to business! They worked on homework for an hour and I had to stop them when time was up... That was a switch!
