ADD/ADHD
I have a Master's Degree in Special Education, certification to teach Special Education N-12th grade. I have taught and worked in the Mental Health field for the past 20 years. I am a Pennsylvania Licensed Behavior Specialist. I have an child of my own with ADHD and one with ADD that I have taught. I taught summer school with adolescent females in a residential treatment facility in Youngstown, Ohio. ADHD/ADD were the mildest of diagnosis that I encountered and for whom I modified educational curriculum. I have worked in male residential treatment facility as well and tutored them with their homework and had no issues with them other than the occasional frustrated outburst due to their personal circumstances. I have worked with children on the autism spectrum for years. It requires much patience and due diligence to reach some of them, but progress is possible if you are willing to put in the time and commitment.
