Kathy
Math Tutor - High School and College Courses
I love Math! I teach at the community college and in a high school. I have taught math online, on TV and for SAT/ACT Prep classes. I enjoy seeing the "aha" moment in a student when he/she clearly understands a concept. To put it simply, I believe that Math is Fun! Teaching is an art, a gift, and a privilege. My experience is an asset to my teaching, as I have successfully taught teens and adults for more than 30 years....

My daughter is studying honors pre-calc in 11th grade. Started having difficulty with some of the concepts early on and felt a tutor was needed to help her grasp it all. After using another tutor that was not a great fit, we contacted Kathy. Kathy has been nothing but fabulous in working with us. She is easy to get a hold of, able to accommodate our limited notices and offers thorough follow up reviews. Kathy has a way of teaching, explaining and working with my daughter that allows her to "get" it. Highly recommend!!

We have been so lucky to have found Cathy this year! She has been patient and encouraging to my son so he has gained confidence in his abilities to solve more difficult problems. She has helped him through several rough spots in precalculus this semester. Before two different tests, Cathy made time to meet with him to help him review. He is also taking Stats and needed some "emergency help" and Cathy was there for us! I can't say enough about her teaching style and positive demeanor.

Kathy not only knew every aspect of my math course of study, but she also is a great adviser on the path you're taking in your studies because of her vast experience in education! I have struggled in math all my life and taking a second level math course in college was a giant wall for me, especially taking a math course online. By the time I was finished tutoring with Kathy, I had a better understanding over every module I struggled with! During that time of tutoring I was also advised about the program that I was currently in, and how it might have not been the best choice for my degree. So with Kathy's help and her extensive background, I am not only stronger in math, but now I am transferring to a bigger and better program that will help my profession in the future! Thanks Kathy!!

We look forward to having Kathy come over and tutor my daughter. Kathy is very caring, very patient and great with teenagers. I like that Kathy breaks the math down, so that my daughter can see where her mistakes are. Having Kathy has made a difference in my daughter achieve her goals. Thank You Kathy!

It is not often that I review teachers, but Kathy M. is truly a teacher's teacher. Some of her finer qualities are the ability to determine exactly the level of knowledge of a student, evaluate the mathematical skills the student must possess to attain his goals, and instruct the student appropriately to achieve mathematical success. Her many years of experience allow her to not only answer a student's questions; she anticipates them.

As great teachers can do, Kathy with her keen evaluation skills can determine a student's ability and needs and see "how they are thinking". Kathy is able to teach students the skills to tackle math problems and correct problem areas. Our son felt 100% more confident after the first lesson!
