Angela has been tutoring my daughter to prep for the SAT for about a month now. I believe she has had 4 sessions so far, mostly to prep for reading, but is just starting the prep for the math. We have been very satisfied by Angela's instruction. My daughter finds her clear and easy to understand, responsive to questions, and very focused on what she needs. I have been impressed by her organization (she has a specific plan to help my daughter prep within the time we have), and I also appreciate her flexibility. We have had to reschedule sessions, and for one session she actually worked with my daughter on short notice, when schools were closed for a snow day. Finally, Angela actually works with my daughter online rather than face to face. At first I was skeptical about this arrangement, but it has worked out beautifully. Sessions are not cancelled due to bad weather, and there is no driving necessary so everything starts on time and it saves time for us in the long run. I also believe since my daughter is in a familiar environment, there are less distractions this way (or we control better for them). Also, if I happen to be nearby, I can hear the session, so I know what they are working on and can provide assistance to my daughter at a later time if she needs it. Likewise, she can work anywhere in our home with the lap top, so we don't have to take up space and create a quiet area in the dining room, which is where she would work if the tutor came to our home. As an aside, my daughter is also getting SAT prep classes in school and she has found Angela's instruction to be much more helpful, thorough, and rigorous. Thanks, Angela!

When searching for a tutor to help my daughter with SAT prep I found Angela, or say she found us. I did not see her profile, at first, but after posting what I was looking for she reached out to us. Originally, I was looking for someone close to where I live because my daughter has a hectic athletic schedule. I was worried about missing scheduled tutoring times because a practice ran over. Likewise, I didn't want to inconvenience a tutor who may have driven somewhere to meet us only to cancel at the last minute. I needed to find someone who would be flexible and accommodating able to change appointment times if needed. So when Angela told me she would be able to teach my daughter, by way of the internet, from my very own home, I was more than intrigued. This ability would alleviate any hassle or worry on my part. Although I was skeptical at first I decided to set up appointments and give it a try. After my daughter's first tutoring session, I firmly believed I found the best tutor. By way of the computer Angela is able to connect with my daughter, teach, and present material, through a virtual office set up. My daughter is able to interact with her, ask questions, just like she would if she was sitting in the same room as her. Throughout the sessions, Angela will adapt her pace and teaching style based on how my daughter responds to her questions. She is able to pinpoint areas of strengths and weaknesses. No question is ever a stupid. Likewise, Angela makes sure my daughter understands concepts presented before she moves on to the next topic. How do I know this? Because I am able to hear their entire session. Very impressed with her teaching style and manner in which she carries out her lesson plans. She is always prepared, easy to get in touch with, usually she will get back to you in less than 30 minutes. Although I have never met her face to face, I feel she is a truly a caring and compassionate woman. A real gem!

This Tutor is amazing! The time and support she gave my son to study and prepare for the SAT and structure his college essay proved successful. When we started working with Angela, my son had trouble writing his college essays, and he also struggled with the ACT and couldn't get his score up enough to be considered for the top tier schools he was considering.
