My family was in Puerto Rico for a month and I wanted my 10 year old and 8 year old daughters to get some Spanish tutoring. They are beginner level. I was hesitant having someone come into my home but Elaine had great reviews so we decided to give it a try. So glad we did! She is awesome! She is so good with the girls. She is very encouraging and she created a comfortable learning environment where my girls felt comfortable asking questions which is so important for young kids. She has fun and laughs a lot which is great! You can tell she enjoys teaching. She had homework for the girls which I appreciated but she also made sure to incorporate fun activities to keep the girls interested and engaged. She taught us a traditional Spanish dance and gave us a recipe for a Puerto Rican dessert which my girls couldn't wait to make! It turned out great! Overall we have had a great experience. We only have one more lesson left and my girls are already sad! According to my 8 year old, having tutoring lessons with Elaine is one of the best things we have done in PR!

I hired Elaine as my Spanish Tutor over a year ago. She is a wonderful tutor and a wonderful person. I would recommend her for beginners or advanced students. My original goal was to travel to Mexico for work. I needed to be able to speak enough to communicate on a basic level. Thanks to Elaine I have traveled there several times and felt very comfortable communicating with the public. My next goal as a Spanish student is to become completely fluent, which will take more time, but I have a good tutor so... no worries.

I've now had 9 - 2hr. lessons with Elaine and they have been pretty productive. She makes learning enjoyable and I really like the one on one attention. Although I took 2 semesters of college Spanish there were so many little things I missed. With Elaine we started from scratch again and a lot has come back but also a lot of things make more sense. For my next homework I'm to create a story based on a picture and I'm to conduct an interview with a Spanish speaking friend, making up questions, getting responses, and responding to the responses, wow this really gets the ole brain thinking lol.

Elaine has been tutoring Spanish to my 17 yr old son who is taking Spanish through FL Virtual Online to gain a credit to graduate early. He began the course thinking that he did not need to actually "learn" Spanish, he made it about a third of the way through the class before realizing that the online teacher did expect him to actually "learn" how to speak Spanish. I went through WyzAnt and contacted Elaine V. and she has helped him to understand the proper ways to use the verbs and how to form the sentences correctly that the teacher was expecting him to learn from the website. Elaine has been very patient with him, giving him alot of encouragement and trying to show him that learning Spanish may one day aid him with his job search or in life in general. He is the reluctant 17 yr old student not really wanting to learn Spanish but knowing that the Spanish credit is required to graduate from High School one year early. She has made learning the language fun which he was not obtaining from watching and listening to the online tutors. I believe without Elaine helping him to understand the lessons and complete the assignments he would have been forced to drop the Spanish class at about one third of the way through. With Elaine's continued tutoring help I believe he will finish this online Spanish class and if he is required to take another credit of Spanish next year, she will aid with that and maybe one day he will need to speak Spanish because at 17 you never know where life will take you.

I have been working with Elaine for 12 + weeks. I find her approach very achievable, I can tell you that my sentence construction is much better. My understanding of conjugation is far better but still working on it. I would recommend Elaine to anyone from beginner to advanced. I am a beginner who never studied spanish before, I now have a spanish vocabulary and understanding of the spanish construction.
