ADD/ADHD
I have a B.S. in nutrition. I had volunteered with people with different mental disabilities including ADD/ADHD teaching them catechesis for 7 months and for the past year I have coordinated and taught a program for people with special needs, some with ADD/ADHD, to eat healthy, cook and practice yoga. I have worked with students with the following disabilities: learning disabilities, emotional disabilities, autism, ADD/ADHD, speech and language disorders, and other health impairments. Through my experience I developed listening, patience and understanding skills that have helped me to better communicate and teach students with ADD/ADHD. I am knowledgeable of appropriate accommodations and modifications for children with ADD/ADHD, as well as common strengths and weaknesses. I work with students to improve their academic skills, social skills, behaviors, and emotional well-being. I target their academic skills through lessons that involve drill and practice. I love interacting with people with disabilities including ADD/ADHD and helping them in what they need so that they are more involved in activities and studies. I am glad to be involved in the lives of people with ADD/ADHD. I would like to help people who suffer ADD/ADHD improve and better manage their symptoms.
