Hi, I'm Tom P., and I'm one of the tutors here. I've taught Psychology and Latin for 10 years, both in inner city and suburban high schools around Charlotte. I’ve taught all levels of Latin, from Latin 1 to AP Latin and have taught Intro and AP Psychology and Sociology. I've also taught Mythology. Tom has been a wonderful tutor for my grandson. He has an excellent teaching style that my grandson can understand. Tom has been instrumental in bringing his grade up from an F to a B. Tom is also very flexible with his schedule. He was very agreeable when I asked him to come everyday for several days before my grandson's final exam. He achieved a 91% on the exam. I will highly recommend him and will use him in the future if my grandson needs help with anything.

I am of the opinion that tutoring is a very personality-driven activity, and as such one never knows how a student will get along with any particular tutor. Disclaimers now having been offered, I cannot praise Tom as a tutor and person highly enough. As an adult attempting to learn Latin with a ridiculous schedule, Tom is patient with my frequent lapses in memory, innovative in his techniques, and adaptable to my irregular study habits. Tom is the best tutor we have had at Wyzant. He is very intelligent in all areas of education. Teaching Latin for many years has afforded Tom of being a great tutor. I would also describe Tom as having the patience of a saint. He understands my son's weaknesses and tries different avenues for him to learn his lessons. Great teacher and fun to learn with. Willing to adapt lesson and materials. Will stretch himself to accommodate children. We got other material and Tom worked it in. He also adapted multi-media material which helps.
