Our 14 year old son is in the process of transitioning from home school to public high school. Robert worked with him over the past few months to strengthen his math skills (algebra and geometry) to prepare for placement testing. Bob has every attribute that a parent and a student could hope for. He is incredibly intelligent and is blessed with a special gift for teaching. My son scored a 21 on his ACT exam as a junior. He needs a better score and is scheduled to re-test. With so much on the line, these kids endure an enormous level of stress (as do the parents). Bob made my son feel relaxed and confident with our first 2 hour session. Just a side note to parents: if your child is fortunate enough to be accepted as a student, DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE LIKE I DID!!!! Bob is in HIGH demand, therefore, he has a full schedule. As one of the nicest guys I've ever met, he will go out of his way to accommodate you. He even met with us halfway between our home in Dandridge and his in West Knoxville on a Sunday afternoon. I wish I had known about him much earlier in this process. If my son had had just a little more time with Bob, I feel that we would have been looking at an ACT score above 30. This man just "gets it". If only the best will do, stop your search for a tutor now and send an email to try to get on Bob's schedule. It's not an easy task.
