I had the pleasure of working with Amanda in Chemistry this semester. I was in chem 130 at the University of Tennessee. Amanda was great working around my schedule and communicating with me. Not only was she an awesome tutor, but I genuinely loved getting to know her. By the end of the semester I could definitely call her not only a tutor, but a friend. I got a B+ in chem 120 in the fall. I was really hoping to do just as good if not better in chem 130 this past semester. I ended up finishing with an A- and that would not have been possible without Amanda's help. She made it very clear to me at the beginning of the semester that she was not a tutor who was going to just help me figure out the answer, but that she cared about me actually understanding the concepts, and I think that showed with my final grade. Chemistry is the dreaded course at UT and Amanda helped be to conquer the course better than I dreamed possible. If you are looking for an intelligent, caring, responsible, dedicated tutor/ person, Amanda is the one for you!!

Amanda is willing to fit into my schedule even though my child only needs help once and a while. She is very encouraging and tries to fine ways to explain concepts until the students understands. Also will let the student know if she may see other areas that are lacking but may help in other areas if worked on.

I chose Amanda to help my son prepare for the ACT. He had taken it previously and needed to pull his score up. Amanda did a great job of working with him to discover his weaknesses and tailored the sessions and homework to meet his abilities and preferences (eg. he did better with hard copy assignments than with on-line assignments). She was very flexible and was very good at making him comfortable and motivating him to put forth the effort. I am happy to say, he was able to pull his ACT score up to where he wanted and I believe it's due to Amanda working with him. I am definitely keeping her number in case he needs extra help his senior year and when he goes on to college. Thank you Amanda!!

My daughter is an advanced math student in the 8th grade taking Algebra I and was getting anxious about math because her class at school is very fast-paced without a lot of explanation or extensive instruction. My daughter was getting concerned that she might make a B in the class -- and her father and I are useless -- unable to check homework or provide any help at all. I engaged Amanda to go over homework and make sure my daughter was on-track. I could not be happier. My daughter loves Amanda. She respects her, looks forward to her sessions, and has gained a much deeper understanding of the material and is making high marks. Amanda provides a nice mix of explanations, challenge and support. She is a very good communicator. I feel like I've hit a gold mine with Amanda! I also like that she is a nice role model for a young girl to look up to. In short, I feel very fortunate to have found her.
