Math Tutor - Helping you find your pebble of knowledge & build on it!
"At the core of all learning lies understanding. Find your pebble of knowledge and build on it!" I am particularly interested in helping elementary and middle school students solidify common core skills. My instructional approach to learning is to ensure concepts are understood thus enabling future application. I participated for 2 years (2006 and 2007) in a Nashville Christian theater group under the artistic direction of a graduate of the University of Tennessee Memphis theater program. I became proficient at monologue character development & presentation as well as full cast productions. The monologues were as long as 7 minutes while the roles in the cast productions ranged from short conversational speaking series with fellow cast members to 1-1/2 minute speeches in flow. Speech mechanics of breathing, volume projection and enunciation were developed and later applied. Typically, no sound devices were utilized beyond floor microphones. More recently (September 2011), I gained additional experience as an extra (doing an isolated non-verbal exercise) in the trailer by a 2-time finalist in the World Champion of Public Speaking/professional motivational speaker. In the spring of 2011 I stepped into a previously assigned church role with only 7 days to prepare. Memorization techniques previously developed proved a valuable asset. Several in the audience indicated their own emotional stirring by my monologue presentation (which had required tears be shed by my character). Later, in the summer of 2011, I directed a cast of 8 in a church presentation.

Linda is very personable and flexible. I think she is an ideal tutor for upper middle school or advanced students. She is very patient but firm, if you are looking for a math tutor for your high school student I would recommend Linda.

Linda is so great at what she teaches. She really knows her material, and finds a way to make it click with you. She makes you work hard so you will understand the material completely. Linda is one of the best tutors I have ever had.
