I connected with Theresa a few days before a scheduled tutoring session. Something unexpected showed up on my schedule in which case I needed to reschedule. I gave Theresa this notice 23 hours in advance. Understandably she charged me a cancellation fee; however, she cited it was because she was reserving a room and had already prepared material for the session. I was confused because when we spoke on the phone she mentioned the building would be vacant and locked, and I would need to bring the material as she would assist me with what I needed. In the email I received from Theresa upon the cancellation fee, she also mentioned that if I rescheduled a time for the same week then she would deduct that fee from our session. I have tried reaching out to Theresa and I have been ignored.

I notified Teresa ahead of time that I was going to be a few minutes late given that I was meeting at her workplace. She complaint notoriously about my tardiness and lectured me on the importance of "good habits" because I was 10 minutes late. During our meeting, we completed only 1 and 1/2 problems .... yes, one and a half problems. That is of course, in an entire 2 hour span of time. Often, Teresa digressed from the topic at hand and could not demonstrate the material in a straightforward nor concise manner. The result was a complete and utter waste of time. Nevertheless, I thought I would give it another chance because that's sometimes how 1st meetings go, a little bit slower than normal. Perhaps, I did not communicate my expectations clearly enough. So, onto the 2nd meeting. This time, I was very upfront about my expectations and what I wanted. Accordingly, I said you need to actually to write out the problem from start to finish, and do just that, no shortcuts, no simply talking about what to do, just do it. Sadly, my words landed on deaf ears. I asked repeatedly for Teresa to write the problem out, and when attempted to finally do so, any progress came to a halt as she arrived at the conclusion that the material and its answer key I had brought was incorrect. Teresa wasted more time arguing the validity of the material, but I took up considering her assertion nonetheless to be fair. After checking with multiples sources, I verified that the material and answers I supplied were correct. With that, I decided to go with another tutor, and I am happy I did so. Not only was he able to illustrate the ins and outs of what I needed to know, we were able to get done in an hour what Teresa, and I couldn't get done in 3. On a side note, I have never met a tutor who clock watches so closely as to charge by the exact minute given Teresa's inefficiency. At the end of the day, I only regret that good money was squandered on 3 hours of time I can never get back.
