We have had several tutors and Nataliya is by far the best (and the one my son likes best). She tutors my 7th grade son in math. She has a very thorough knowledge of math and is very adept at finding different ways to explain things until she is confident that my son understands. She is extremely patient and encouraging and gives a lot of positive reinforcement. Beforehand she asked me what math book my son was using, what they were studying, and what his problem areas were, then she (at home on her own time) made these beautiful (her handwriting is impeccable and neater than you can imagine) and very detailed drawings (with corresponding written descriptions) of different types of shapes (all the different types of triangles, etc.) as a reference for my son to use when doing his homework. She is very good about making sure that he has a really complete understanding of the concept they're working on before she moves on to something else. She is very kind and soft-spoken and low-pressure, and so patient, and, at least with my son, this has done wonders for his ability to understand. She doesn't just lecture, she explains things in such a way that my son is interacting with her and with the material as she is explaining it. This has given him a lot of confidence in not only his ability to solve problems, but in his ability to ask questions when he doesn't understand something. She really inspires trust in him and so he is not afraid to make a mistake or admit when he is confused. I am confident that when she teaches him something that he really knows it, as she is so conscientious about making sure that he truly understands. I would highly recommend Nataliya to anyone. The combination of her rock solid understanding of the subject matter coupled with her kindness and patience make her the perfect tutor. She is a very sweet lady who genuinely likes and understands children. We feel very lucky to have her.
