I am a passionate reading tutor, who loves working with kids.
I believe that communication is the essence of human life, and that every child deserves to have a voice. Because of this belief, I have a desire for helping children and their families as they navigate the challenges that come with communication difficulties. Over the years, I have worked with a wide range of children with a variety of diagnoses - Expressive/Receptive Language Disorder, Articulation Disorder, Fluency Disorder, and Pragmatic Language Disorder. Although each diagnosis requires different skills and strategies, one thing is common to each child I have ever served: the joy of seeing a child learn to connect with others through communication is by far the greatest privilege of being a Speech Language Pathologist. As of July 2015, I enrolled in Dyslexia Practitioner Preparation Program with Neuhaus Education Center in Bellaire, TX. I attended introductory classes for working with students, who have Dyslexia or reading difficulties. I plan to work with students, who have Dyslexia/reading difficulties, and become a Certified Dyslexia Practitioner.
