Ali tutored me in Arabic for about 3 months last semester and it was a great experience. He had very flexible hours and was up for meeting anywhere that we could make work. He gave me a lot of options for how to learn that I would not necessarily have experienced in a classroom. He was always willing to take more time on cultural or other topics I was interested in, so I really felt that I made well rounded progress in my knowledge of the Arabic language and the people who speak it. I have made so much progress that I feel much more confident in the class I am taking now than I could have hoped for ( I moved back to my college town). Ali really made the lessons interesting and effective by not just teaching straight out of our primary book, but structuring the lessons in a way that it made sense considering my progress at the time. He was very patient when I had difficulties in learning but was sure to point out the progress I was making and push me to do better, with clear suggestions of how to go about my studying.
