For the past 16 years I have been teaching in public schools in Houston and surrounding cities. I have been an extra teacher, a substitute teacher and an associate teacher. My experience has been with all grades, pre K thru 12, and all subjects. Some of the subjects I have taught, besides just math, english, and history are art, auto mechanics, computer technology, special ed, auto body, teen leadership, ESL, P.E., social studies, choir, music, reading, and I have also worked in the library...
ADD/ADHD
For the past 12 years, I have worked as an associate teacher, extra teacher, substitute teacher, and a tutor in an after school program. I have taught all grade levels and all subjects. I have taught special education in public schools from 1 to 6 week intervals. These classes are classified as ADD/ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, and MR. For 4 years I taught at an alternative school for students with behavioral problems. My time teaching in special education classes has shown me that most children can learn new things and new attitudes by a teacher being firm, using repetition and rewarding good behavior.
