Exceptional Students Welcome

I like to help Students of all types reach their potential. I am very adjustable in my teaching style to better fit the students needs. All students can learn it just takes time and consistent guidance to help them. I think learning works better when it is fun to learn. ADD/ADHD

I have taught many types of students over the years the key is to be adjustable. Students with adhd need to change it up regularly as their focus can be limited. I also like to keep the learning interesting and fun to help keep them engaged. It is also important to quickly assess what their primary learning style is to better engage them. I also have a masters degree in special education.

Aspergers

I have taught many types of students over the years the key is to be adjustable. I have two daughters with Aspergers ages 12 and 15. They are very different from each other even though they have the same condition. Students with this condition like routine to a certain point. They can melt down quickly if they do not understand something or get discouraged. There are always warning signs this is going to happen, so I have learned to watch for these signs and circumvent them. You can do this in a variety of ways. The quickest is to give them a short break to spend time in their obsession, i.e. legos or reading. I like to keep the learning interesting and fun to help keep them engaged. It is also important to quickly assess what their primary learning style is to better engage them. I also have a masters degree in special education.
