Frau Beate is one of the best tutors I have encountered. Her periods of instruction are more than just learning how to speak, read, and write German; she helps teach you these things by also integrating an understanding of German culture and traditions. Her lessons are fun and she really knows how to simplify the period of instruction in a way that has made learning German much easier for me. Honestly, I have learned more with regard to German language during my lessons with Frau Beate than I had during the three years I lived in Germany while stationed there with the U.S. Military. She did not listen to my requests for what to discuss or study. She selected what she wanted to do or thought was appropriate.This is not high school. I have done this many times before and when I request something, I expect the tutor does it. I am paying. I requested 3 times the subject, and she did something totally different. I will not continue and do not recommend her. She is the only tutor I have worked with that has done this. Bad experience.

Beate is an amazing instructor with a gift for teaching German to multiple ability groups at the same time. My 7 year old son and I take lessons together and are at very different levels. Beate is able to cater the lesson to both my son's level (beginner) and my level (a little further than beginner) with great ease. She has great games, songs, and presentations that my son thoroughly enjoys and he doesn't even realize he is learning. I won't lie, I love the songs too! When instructing at an adult level, Beate integrates cultural and historical aspects in to the lessons that really help to bring everything together. Understanding the history of the language, and how the culture differs from ours makes the lesson more thorough and will help tremendously in the transition from living in America to living in Germany.

She has been great. My quiz grades after I started seeing her rose to a 90% and my test grades rose to 94%. We worked on things that I did not understand well on class, and we worked on conversational German getting to work on my diction and pronunciation. Really, really helpful.
