I began painting and drawing as a young child. My mother says I just couldn’t help myself; I’d draw on the walls, my toys, and yes, even painted the formal living room sofa (because no one used that room anyway). My childhood was spent in Spartanburg, South Carolina and at 17 I attended the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts.
