My son was none too anxious to have a tutor. I guess he believed it would be similar to his classroom experience and he wanted none of it. Sophie met with my son and reviewed his homework and results of recent tests. She was able to identify the disconnect between what was being required by the school teacher and his lack of understanding (teacher is exposing the class to too many concepts at once, hence confusion). My son thought the lesson went much better than he anticipated and no longer objects having a German tutor. Both my wife and I were relieved to hear his words of acceptance and willingness to continue his studies with Sophie.
