My Qualifications Becoming a teacher/tutor requires kindness, dedication, hard work and a lot of patience. The best teachers are patient, accepting, and compassionate. They empathize with what the students are thinking and feeling, thus anticipating what they need in order to learn and thrive. When a student is struggling, good teachers/tutors hide their irritation and refrain from making critical comments that only make the situation worse. Instead, caring teachers will try anything and everything in order to reach each and every student. It can be interesting at times, but a good teacher/tutor is all about the heart and soul they bring into the lesson. I know that my students will only succeed to the extent that they feel my confidence in them and are believed in. By approaching each student with only the highest of hopes, I visualize student success long before it actually occurs. I want to be able to tutor elementary students. I am an excellent teacher/tutor. I have patience and the ability to work with children of diverse backgrounds and am adept in engaging a student in learning. I am very comfortable working with parents. With my counseling background and teaching experience, I have worked with varying levels of student competence as well as children with learning disabilities. Teaching Experience I have a teaching degree and Masters degree in Counseling and Guidance. I have taken classes in educational psychology and have classroom field experience and multiple years of teaching experience. Background Check I have undergone WyzAnt’s background check to ensure my acceptability to tutor as well as multiple background checks for coaching all ages of children.

Its been a while since I've done math! Having Suzanne refresh my memory and helping me study for my ASVAB that is coming up was hard but with her teaching skills I'm catching on just great!

Andres P. from Fairfax, VA

Bottom line: Our son passed the ASVAB on his first official try. We were in trouble. Our boy's only hope for a decent future was to get into the service, and we had been on that track for years. We didn't anticipate that passing the ASVAB would be a problem. After all, he was passing in the public school system! He got a dismally low score on a practice ASVAB. No way did I have the time to devote to getting him up to speed. I was even doubtful that it was possible. We had to get ready for Plan B. Sue met with our son three times a week for about 2 months. Her background in the ASVAB, coupled with her skill and patience as a teacher, worked perfectly. She's non-nonsense, realistic, focused, and worth every penny I paid for her time.

Alma R. from Woodbridge, VA

My son is preparing to take the ASVAB, his initial score on the practice exam was 26. After one week of working with Sue, his score improved by approximately seven points. Her methods are working and I really appreciate it.

Monalisa N. from Jacksonville, FL

She helped me point out my weak and strong areas. She sent me some work sheets to practice more on my weak areas. Our first lesson was great! I'm looking forward to subsequent ones. Now I'm not so afraid of Mathematics.

Janet B. from Temple Hills, MD

Suzanne was very professional and I liked the fact that she gave home work which will help the learning process to continue after the lesson. We have used other tutors and none gave home work.

Kristin G. from Ivoryton, CT

Sue is very flexible with times, and she keeps you on your toes with challenges for your personal level. Always prepared with lessons and homework to help study from outside of the lessons!

Sara H. from Bossier City, LA

Suzanne help me to understand asvab problems in an easy way. I am so happy with her way to teach.

Tereia K. from Manassas, VA

Ms. Sue knows how to work with students. Her personality works very well with Teenagers specifically mine teenager. She is willing to go beyond just teaching to help a student succeed specifically being flexible with meeting locations and generally guiding a student to a successful path. Our tutoring sessions just recently started but from the couple of encounters we've had together I know we've picked the right tutor for the job. Thanks so much Ms. Sue for who you are.

Andres M. from Panama City, FL

It is very apparent that Suzanne genuinely cares about her work. She has a great passion for teaching and I would highly recommend her to other students.
