I specialize in giving struggling students the skills to be successful in the classroom. By far, my favorite subjects are math and science, but I love to show the tricks for test taking for ASVAB, TEAS, MCAT, Compass / Accuplacer / WAMAP placement tests, new SAT and ACT exam. I asked my son to rate his session with Stephanie today on a scale of 1-10. He rated it a 12. Pretty amazing coming from a 16 year-old boy on a Friday afternoon after a long week of school and homework. In just 3 sessions, he's gone from failing test scores to a B on his last test. She is amazing and we feel very fortunate to have found her through WyzAnt!

My son was quickly falling behind and Stephanie has been able to get him back on track in just a few sessions. He comes away from the tutoring sessions feeling much more confident and that will help him be successful in his classes. We are very happy we connected with Stephanie and feel very confident that he will thrive under Stephanie's tutelage in Chemistry and Algebra 2.

I loved working with Stephanie. She is a very good listener and very patient. She is humble and non-judgmental. Great sense of humor. I was looking for a tutor, but ended up with a good friend.
Irene W. from Kent, WA
She was great, clear as day, funny, lively, and full of energy. Her examples were simple and easy to understand. I enjoyed my lesson. Stephanie was very patient with me when I didn't understand. She didn't mind explaining or repeating things in simpler terms.

My son was struggling with Geometry, but now his confidence is up and he is doing much better in the class. Thanks, Stephanie, for all your help.

Stephanie helped my daughter go from receiving D's and E's on chemistry quizzes and tests to a "B"! My daughter even states that Stephanie is helping her understand the concepts. I'm so glad I found Stephanie. She is a total gem.

Where do I begin? My son Alex is highly capable, and has very lofty goals. He took his SAT and ACT on his own without tutoring or even having entered his junior year of high school (thereby not having had many of the classes) and did respectably. He wanted better, because he wants the most options when choosing a college. We were recommended to Stephanie from another of her students and signed up. She met with Alex once a week, and was always VERY flexible with his schedule (and tardiness...). No matter how stressed he was about homework or practice tests before seeing Stephanie, he always came back reassured and confident. Sometimes her advice was the same as the advice I'd given him, but it was somehow much better received coming from her. She relates to teens very well. Alex would take the practice tests, and then they'd go over them to see where he was weak and needed extra help, and they would focus on that. Through her help and encouragement and belief, as well as her many tricks and tips to master the test, Alex increased his SAT score by 150 points. Yes, you read right, 150 points and his composite ACT by EIGHT points!!! Do yourself a favor, don't debate this. Just choose Stephanie. She is worth every cent, and will be remembered forever and recommended to all!!!

My daughter and I feel very blessed to have Stephanie as her tutor. Not only is she helping with physics and math, but how to study, SATs, and being a teenager in general.

I loved my tutoring session with Stephanie. She was great, very personable, funny, and able to really help me focus on what I needed to study. She helped me create a study plan and I know she has dramatically improved my score. I would recommend her to anyone! Thanks again Stephanie!

I sit in on many of my son's sessions with Stephanie, and always find her upbeat, encouraging and very helpful. We have been very pleased with her willingness to be flexible with our sessions due to other scheduled activities, even meeting on a Sunday once before a test. Thank you Stephanie for making a difference in my son's life, by helping to find confidence in himself with what he already knows deep down inside.

This tutor is very positive and encouraging, despite tutoring very difficult subjects (tutoring daughter in calculus). Makes plans in advance to make sure to student gets timely help. Communicates via several avenues, email, texts, etc. Would recommend her to anyone who needs help with pre-calc, trig, calculus. She knows her stuff.
Aaron B. from Puyallup, WA
Stephanie has been very helpful in providing additional instruction and explanation in physics and pre-calculus. She is patient, asks good questions to understand where I need help and provides thorough examples to explain complex problems. She provides clear feedback after each lesson and has really helped me get back on track and keep up with my assignments.

I have struggled with math since I was in middle school. Struggled all through high school, and into college. I obtained my degree in Geography, and never thought that I would need to use much math, other then the simple formulas for some of my classes. This past summer of 2012, I decided to make the big leap, and start the process of joining the military. But with the military, comes the ASVAB. Which has high school math. You might think "oh, high school math, no big deal". Well I have been out of high school for over 6 years, so most of that math has flew the chicken coop, and was long gone. So I decided to swallow my pride, and gave up on trying to reteach myself the math. I decided it was a smart investment to get a tutor. Stephanie T. just so happened to be my tutor. And I won't lie, forever has my life changed. She was very patient with my struggle to grasp even simple maths that I have long forgotten. Pushed me to better myself, and focus on what was important. Never did she belittle my efforts, but rather encouraged and coerced the best out of me. She provided me with books to study from, because I could not afford to buy them. She let me over extend the time limit on books, to ensure that I would be able to sufficiently study. She would meet when was convenient with me and worked around my work schedule. To put it simply, I took the ASVAB to join the Coast Guard (the branch that is very picky with their candidates) yesterday 03/20/2013. I won't say my score, but I will say, that I did so well, that I opened up every job opportunity possible within the USCG. I also scored high enough to eventually go officer, if I choose. Without Stephanie T. I would of never been able to reach this goal. She provided me with the knowledge and confidence to reach my true potential. And that has forever changed my life. Thank you Stephanie!

Stephanie T. was a patient, and kind tutor who has great ideas for writing. She offers helpful hints, but also expects her pupil to come up with their own ideas.

We are very impressed with Stephanie's willingness to be so accomodating on such short notice. Our 8th grade son, who struggles in Algebra, was very impressed with her clarity and patience. This appears to be an excellent start to a great tutor!

We have had the most positive experience with Stephanie! I would encourage anyone to use her. She is very patient and positive with my daughter, who struggles with self esteem. She is getting through to her and I'm seeing amazing progress after only three sessions! I highly recommend Stephanie! She's a sure thing!

Geometry. Kept my daughter on keel so she wouldn't tip over and hopefully it will end in an A this semester.
Kerstin E. from Kent, WA
Stephanie helped me in each area that I was struggling with for my upcoming exam. She obviously knows chemistry inside & out, but she also knows how to relay that information in a manner that I could easily understand.
Rumela G. from Bellevue, WA
It is still early yet...but hopefully my son will be a more organized individual learning skills in precalculus that will help him in his studies.
Debra W. from Bonney Lake, WA
Stephanie is doing an excellent job of engaging with my son who is frustrated with math. She has a very friendly personality and motivates him to do better. She is amazing!
Chris G. from Kent, WA
Stephanie did a great job of starting her sessions with my daughter by asking good questions about where she was at with her calculus knowledge and reviewing recent tests. She asked about what she was struggling with and made a plan to get her back on track to the performance my daughter wanted. We plan to set up regular sessions with Stephanie as a result! Thanks Stephanie!
Lauren L. from Kent, WA
Highly recommended and extremely knowledgeable. Learned more in an hour than I have in forever. Will most definitely be contacting Stephanie again! Ps. Such a sweet lady!
Deborah D. from Renton, WA
My 17 year old son is outgoing and enjoys learning when he is interested. He is not that dedicated when it seems to be just an assignment. Stephanie was able to instantly connect with him. He sometimes asks for an extra session or to move the date when test are coming up. She has worked with him for over a year. This year's subject is pre-Calc. He didn't do great on a recent test. Stephanie was confident he knew the concepts. She arranged to have my son's math test left in the office so she could review it on site. That is just one example of her dedication to her students. The last session they reviewed her findings and put together a plan to help him do better next time. We referred two very different students to her and they are both now working with Stephanie. I could go on but you get the idea. Stephanie knows her math and sciences and is a great tutor!
Michael R. from Kent, WA
Stephanie is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to about my issues in calculus. She is able to show me ways to remember the rules of derivatives. I feel more confident now for my upcoming test.
