However, after having participated in intensive Japanese language classes in Tokyo, studying Japanese at the University of Utah, taking the Level 1 Japanese Language Proficiency test and living abroad for much of my life in Japan, I know many of the struggles and the difficulties people feel when studying a second language. Jordan was kind, enthusiastic, and obviously competent both as a teacher and in the language. He did a great job of making the atmosphere one that felt safe.
