Learn Photography from a Professional
Digital Photography, Lightroom, and Photoshop Expert: classically trained with film in a dark room. What makes me different: I'm a professional photographer and a professional educator, using my Masters degree. I posses both the knowledge of the field by practicing it everyday but also teach it at a near by university. I'm available via email & text with my current students in between lessons. I can give assignments and look at them before our session, to help you practice and track your p...
Adobe Illustrator
Illustrator is for graphics. It's for designing simple logos, creating small promotional items, and laying out a postcard or business card. I use Illustrator whenever possible. I find it to be the easiest of the Adobe programs to use and navigate, as well as learn. In most cases Illustrator can get the job done, get it done well and with ease, which is important in all industries. I will not lie, there are times when Photoshop or InDesign will be needed, but if you're looking for a program that does most of your design needs, then Illustrator is the one. I personally use it for screen printing designs, business card designs, website graphics, promotional post cards and flyers.

film
If you're looking for a more therapeutic activity, shooting film will be a fantastic way to create, with out all the rush and bright screens. I've been shooting film since 2002, mostly black and white. I can help answer many of your questions about film. We can check out a local place to buy and develop film. There are many differences in film versus digital, we'll go over all of those ways of practice.
video production
I shoot short video clips with my DSLR and I edit with Photoshop. I can show you the basics of video with a DSLR and how to finesse your video with tips in PS. We can stitch your video together with simple fades, or we can get more complex by adding music, recorded sound, text overlays, or even photographs and graphics.

Lindsey is an excellent teacher who knows how to decompose the whole into manageable elements. The opaque camera becomes transparent, as if seen though x-rays. After our first session, I felt better armed to understand what was going on in that box and how to use it. Having the student practice each newly learned component, over and over again will facilitate rehearsing it at home. I also appreciate how Lindsey speaks slowly, articulates clearly, and helps the student linguistically walking her through the arcane imagery of photo technique. Her charts were very helpful, as well as her drawings on the white board. After taking pictures of a subject, she showed me the differences depending on how much light we allowed into the camera. Eye-opening! She was also very forward about showing me her portfolio and how she gets to take the best pictures of people through getting to know them and their unique personalities.

Lindsey tutored me for a number of weeks. She is one of the most talented, knowledgeable people I've ever met. She will not only guide you through the material but also provide tips that will help you get through faster and smarter. I highly recommend Lindsey M.

I enjoyed our session while learning: Masking, transforming, removing red eye, using paintbrush and making black and white adjustments. All basic stuff but very useful.

I absolutely love Lindsey's teaching style, her ability to deliver information in a way that I can comprehend it. I've taken many classes in the past that were over technical teaching me things I probably wasn't going to use to begin with. Lindsey's personal experience with photography, and her extensive educational experience makes learning from her a true joy, and very comfortable. Very very grateful I was able to find her.

Lindsey quickly returns emails. Very flexible with schedules. Very patient with questions and encouraging. She is honest with time and arrives early or prompt to meetings. She is a great teacher and tutor. I recommend her to anyone who would like to know more about photography but doesn't have time for schedule classes or needs flexible scheduling due to work/life. She is willing to go on excursions to camera stores to buy equipment or practice shooting pictures and even come to the house to set up editing program. Cannot ask for a better person that is willing to do everything possible to see you succeed in your photography journey.

Lindsey is an excellent photography teacher. She is definitely knowledgeable in the field of photography and is extremely focused in her teaching. She makes efficient use of the tutoring time she has with you and she is very patient with her students. I like people who stay on task and Lindsey does. She also had a very studied eye when she reviews photographs and pulls out the points that need to be focus on. You will be very pleased working with Lindsey.

I have been a student of Lindsey's for the past year, through continuing ed digital photography classes at UTA she has instructed and through Wyzant tutoring. I highly recommend Lindsey for assistance with general photography topics, software and hardware issues and specific photography equipment instruction and techniques. She is very patient and takes the time to explain things to ensure you understand and gives advice and hints and suggestions and critiques constructively. She really knows her stuff! She is very accommodating and flexible. She is easy to get in touch with and is very professional and timely in replying to inquiries. She is a pro who isn't stingy with her expertise, knowledge or time, and I appreciate that very much in an instructor/tutor. Call her! You won't regret it.

I knew the LR basic tools from a LR intro class but knowing what the tools are and then how to use them are two different things. Add highlights or white? Lighten the shadow or take back the black? There's a difference and I needed to know when to use what and how to easily compare my images in each step of the processing. Lindsey got me where I needed to go.
